Meet Dr. Oviedo - Chula Vista, CA

Dr. Mariano Oviedo’s journey to becoming a trusted dentist in Chula Vista spans three countries and more than two decades of dedication to dentistry. Originally from Argentina, he built a successful career as a clinician and university professor before earning his Doctor of Dental. Surgery (DDS) degree in Mexico and ultimately making Southern California his home. Throughout his journey, Dr. Oviedo has remained committed to combining advanced clinical expertise with compassionate care, helping patients restore their oral health, confidence, and quality of life.

Born and raised in Argentina, Dr. Oviedo graduated with honors from dental school in La Plata in 2005. He spent more than a decade in private practice, focusing on advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry. His dedication to excellence earned him a teaching position at the prestigious University of Buenos Aires, where he served as a professor of Operative Dentistry for 10 years, sharing his knowledge and passion with future dental professionals.

Driven by a desire to continue growing professionally, Dr. Oviedo relocated to Mexico to earn his DDS degree from Universidad La Salle. During his studies, he was elected President of the Dental Student Association, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to advancing the dental profession.

Giving back has always been an important part of Dr. Oviedo’s career. Since 2018, he has volunteered with the Thousand Smiles Foundation, working alongside surgeons, dental specialists, and aspiring dentists from across the United States and Mexico to provide life-changing care for children born with cleft lip and palate. Through this mission, he has helped deliver treatment at no cost to families, creating lasting impacts that extend far beyond dentistry.

Today, Dr. Oviedo proudly serves patients from Chula Vista, Eastlake, Bonita, National City, San Diego, and communities throughout the South Bay. As a bilingual dentist fluent in English and
Spanish, he provides comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. His clinical interests include dental implants, All-on-X full arch restorations, veneers, smile makeovers, full-mouth rehabilitation, and restorative dentistry. Whether patients are seeking to replace missing teeth, improve their smile, or regain confidence in their oral health, Dr. Oviedo is dedicated to delivering personalized treatment and exceptional results.
