Our Chula Vista dentist, Dr. Espinosa and his team is proud of the fact that our practice is among the one percent of dental offices that has technology like 3D computerized dental scanning technology. Using 3D cone beam computerized tomography or CBCT, Dr. Espinosa can capture highly accurate and precise 3D images of the teeth and jaw to monitor, evaluate and diagnose dental problems.
As the patient sits comfortably upright in a chair, the 3D scanner makes one complete 360 degree rotation wherein it captures multiple highly accurate three-dimensional views of the entire smile. We use this imaging system to plan treatments and to assist us in delivering the dental care we offer including extractions and dental implants.
Unlike regular dental X-rays, the 3D scanner can discriminate between many types of tissue including bone, teeth, nerves and soft tissue. This helps in making an accurate diagnosis and in the facilitation of appropriate treatment.
