How can I keep my teeth whiter and brighter between visits?
It’s important to maintain your regular brushing and flossing routine between visits but you may also see the bright shine start to fade. The biggest culprits being coffee and red wine! Make sure you’re brushing immediately after drinking either. You may also consider using some at home whitening remedies. “We recommend using a tooth whitening kit between visits. In fact, if you refer three patients to Bonita Del Rey, we will give you custom trays and whitening gel syringe for free, as a token of our appreciation,” says, Jessica (Office Manager)
What causes tooth sensitivity to hot or cold foods and beverages?
If you’re feeling sensitivity when drinking or eating hot or cold items it may be the result of tooth decay, fractured teeth, worn fillings, gum disease, exposed tooth root or worn tooth enamel. Sensitive teeth however, can be treated depending on the cause. It may be as simple as changing to a desensitizing toothpaste or Fluoride treatment, or it’s possible you may need a crown or root canal. Please contact our office if you’re experiencing tooth sensitivity so we can schedule a free dental consultation to determine the best course of action.
What are the best options for replacing a missing tooth?
Depending on your situation, you may have several options for replacing missing teeth. If you’re missing a tooth and there are two healthy teeth on either side, you could get a bridge to fix the gap. If you have a number of spaces in a row, you have the option of getting a partial denture. However, in most situations, dental implants are the best option for replacing missing teeth. The dental implant procedure is fast, accurate and efficient. Plus, dental implants provide the look, feel and function of natural teeth and we have a special offer on 4 Mini Dental Implants! Can sealants help prevent cavities?
“Even with regular brushing and flossing, you may be missing some deep grooves in your back teeth, leaving food and debris to build up,” says Dr. Espinosa. To ensure you’re protected in these areas you may consider sealants. Sealants are a thin painted coating that bonds to your teeth, usually used in the molars where you have deep grooves, creating a protective shield to prevent tooth decay.
